Can y’all believe those flowers? I snapped that picture a few weeks ago while at the farmers market. Seriously, such vibrant, beautiful colors! Something about the farmer’s market makes me so happy. It ALSO makes me super happy to be back to blogging! Gah, I feel like there’s so much I want/need to share! This is another relaxing weekend – we are having friends over for dinner and Olympic viewing tonight, going to the pool/playing golf tomorrow, and cooking out. Just enough, but not too much. Soaking up these summer days while I can!
shopping | I updated the “Shop” page late last night with some things I’m really loving/are on my wishlist, so check it out! I’m trying reaaaallly hard not to buy anything in August, but it’s so so hard. I have a problem, I know. Admittance to self is the first step, right? But if you are shopping, J.Crew has 40% off sale, Loft is 40% off EVERYTHING, including Lou and Grey (ahhh I’m dying), and Club Monaco is extra 40% off sale (I NEED THIS WHITE BLOUSE, Y’ALL).
eating | zoodles are my jam. I’ve made this baked ziti twice, and I’d say it’s more so a baked spaghetti than ziti, but it’s sooooo good. Simon and I don’t even miss the pasta noodles. The key is cooking them long enough that they aren’t crunchy, in my opinion. No one likes crunchy noodles, so why would I like crunchy pasta zoodles? Also want to try this paleo buffalo chicken casserole. Because, buffalo chicken. YUM.
watching | The Olympics. Every night. Maybe it’s because I’m a swimmer, but does anyone else feel nostalgic/emotional about Phelps and Lochte and Missy Franklin? Like last night when Missy cried, I cried. And then Simone Manuel, damn you go girl. All the tears filling up my eyes. But I swear, Dan Hicks & Rowdy Gaines are going to drive. me. insane. Can we just not talk about Phelp’s age, time between events, and broken swim cap? Please and thank you. Sincerely, all of America.
reading | In keeping with the Olympics, I read this article on Russian breastroker Yulia Efimova. I’m not a proponent of steroid use by any means, but I thought this article was a perfect example not to jump to attack people without knowing the full story. I am pumped Lilly King won gold and who knows, maybe there’s more to it than the Post is reporting on, but I think we can all be a little more kind, right?
feeling | ALL OF THE FEELS. Did anyone see this incredible home makeover Emily Henderson did for her nanny? I was sitting in my cube at work with tears actually going down my face. It’s a long post, but try to read it to get the full 360 degree picture of just how amazing this is. And then check out the individual room posts: the master bedroom, the dining room, Ricky’s bedroom, and the bathroom. I think she’s pure magic.
listening | One of the things that made me really sad to leave Nashville was leaving the church I had begun regularly attending. I just loveeeeddd the pastor and his messages. So real, so refreshing, and so relatable. So good thing we live in 2016, right?! Because I can stream the sermons on my phone or while I’m working and it’s like I’m there!!! Well, not quite, but closest I can get 3.5 hours away. I highly, highly suggest. Elliott Cherry, y’all. He’s the man.
